"Missing or invalid shipper number" for UPS from Shipstation

Krampade
Rookie

Since the ending of the USPS Regional boxes we had to get brown boxes ideally for brown trucks.

However, shipping with UPS from Shipstation is useless as there is an error "Missing or invalid shipper number."  We all know that this has nothing to do with a UPS number that I would have and there isn't any way to try and reset this service or edit information in any way.

Did anyone have this same error and if so, what was the fix?

Hey there Krampade,

If ever running into an error message that is blocking a shipment, your best bet is to reach out to our support team directly! You can do this via email (Support@shipstation.com) or the live chat widget!

Our team will be happy to investigate this matter together and in your account directly so we can get you back to shipping like normal.

From Moderator Davis, May the force be with you!

I opened a support request on June 14 for this exact issue. Today is August 23 and the problem continues within our account. Support continues to say, "we are escalating this to get resolution" but nothing happens. All of our pricing is set up based on the shipping discounts that we receive because we ship using ShipStation UPS, which gives us 66% discount on 2nd day air. Since we are now paying full UPS rates, this costs $25-$75 more for shipping on each order. This has cost us a very large dollar amount. We could change our pricing on our website, but that takes a large effort on our part, and we would need to change it back once fixed. This has created so many problems for us. I have literally begged for help from tech support, and I get NOTHING. Very sad customer here.

Hello @joel6!

Thank you for reaching out to the community. We definitely don't want you to be sad; we like our customers to be very happy! With that, I would suggest reaching out to support again because they will need to do some troubleshooting for you and possibly do a share screen.

We appreciate you!

I don’t have a solution, but am having this sane problem…and have ALWAYS had problems with Shipstation.

I just went through this - 3 days later with support we figured it out - it has to do with your stamps.com connection. First go in to your stamps.com account and make sure UPS is up to date. Then go back to your shipstation and try to see if you can delete all of the shipstation carriers (i believe support did this for me manually) Then clear your cache and set up carriers again.

I hope this helps

fwiw, while i was waiting for them to figure it out, I purchased the labels I needed through stamps.com with the same discounted rate that was showing in the failed labels on shipstation

What if you don't or never had a Stamps.com account?

This is ridiculous, especially since ShipStation never replies to emails.  I am owed a refund since I had to use a cheaper USPS service vs. UPS.  What's more ridiculous is that the charge went through for UPS even though ShipStation wouldn't produce a label due to this supposed error on their end.

Hello @RR505!

Thank you for posting in the community! After looking into your issue, it looks like support issued your refund.

We appreciate your persistence and patience with us.

Happy Shipping1
