Feature Suggestion: Extend Service Mapping to Support Multiple Carrier ID's

mmarzovilla
New Contributor

We currently have 2 FedEx Carrier ID's set up in ShipStation.

  • Each Carrier ID connects to a different FedEx Account.
  • ShipStation makes you select one as the default

We have 2 selling Channels as well.

  • Each selling channel connects to its our WooCommerce store.

Our goal is to use one FedEx Carrier ID for one Selling Channel and the other FedEx Carrier ID for the other.

The issue is that ShipStation will only allow you to map shipping services to the DEFAULT Carrier Id (when 2 of the same carriers are set up)

We also tried using automations for this but hit the same issue.

Having the ability to map to desired carrier id regardless of duplicates or defaults would be a nice feature.

This is seriously my biggest issue with the platform. I have 2 amazon accounts and each one has 2 different amazon buy shipping integrations. I also have 2 UPS accounts. 1 for next day air rates and 1 for ups ground rates. UPS DOES NOT allow negotiated rates for ground and air under the same account number therefore they must be separated. This being said. this makes the automation rules NOT WORK! You have no idea how frustrating is it to have employees accidentally charge the UPS ground account for next day air shipments. A shipment thats supposed to go UPS next day air may cost $80 with the negotiated rate UPS Next Day Air account, but if they ship it on accident with the UPS ground account the cost of the label could EASILY be double or more! This is extremely frustrating.

I left shipstation and went to Ordoro because of this issue. They allow you to setup automation rules with multiple UPS accounts.

PLEASE FIX THIS! I have 2 UPS accounts with negotiated rates. One account is for ground and the other is for next day air rates. I can only choose 1 default account for my automation rules, which is the ups ground account. Employees must manually select the shipment as next day air, and I am unable to map the service request with the proper UPS account. Real PAIN

I left shipstation and switched to Ordoro because of this issue
