HOW TO MARK AN IMPORTED ORDER'S ADDRESS AS "RESIDENTIAL" BEFORE BUYING LABEL?!?

Hello,

For about a year I have been incurring and disputing extra UPS charges (which if you don't know how to check this, you should see my other posts). I have been begging Shipstation to tell me what I have to do to avoid these and the best they can do is offer me this UPS article:
https://www.ups.com/us/en/support/shipping-support/shipping-dimensions-weight/avoid-additional-shipp...

Which is fine within itself, but I am now on day 5 of asking a customer service rep "how do I mark an address as "residential" on shipstation so I can get an accurate look at what my postage is actually going to cost me BEFORE I purchase" and they have completely ghosted me. So now I am asking here...

Frustrated doesn't even begin to describe how I am feeling about this Shipping Service & their lack of actual customer service as of late.

Hello @Ktinamk188!

Thank you for your post in the community! Currently, there isnโ€™t a way to manually mark an order as a residential or commercial address. This classification is part of our address verification and validation system, which relies on the USPS database for U.S. orders. The residential or commercial designation is determined based on the information provided by their system.

For more details, Iโ€™ve linked our Help Center article on Address Validation here: Address Validation. I hope this helps clarify! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Happy Shipping!

So you are telling me that I cannot manually mark this, so essentially i will NEVER be able to properly see how much my UPS shipping will actually cost me until it's sent and that back charge me? That is absolute garbage. Thanks.

For us, once we're inside the actual order and the address is validated, above the Create + Print Label button we receive a notification along the lines of "Address Classification changed to Residential." Is that not happening for you?

No, unfortunately i have scoured every little aspect of shipstation and no one does it say residential anything. They know this is a problem and continue to give me no solutions. I am at my actual wits end because of this, hundreds of dollars of my money is tied up UPS until shipstation processes my disputes, which is becoming increasingly longer as time goes on. I am sooooo very frustrated with this company.
