Purchase Error: Invalid sold to state province code. Valid length is 0 to 5 alphanumeric

When creating a shipment to Mexico and entering the five-digit zip code given by the customer and , I get the following error: "Invalid sold to state province code. Valid length is 0 to 5 alphanumeric".  That is, I get the error only when choosing UPS (my default option), but not DHL.  Any way around this issue?  Any help will be appreciated!

Hello, @sfzeller!

Thank you for your post. I suggest contacting support@shipstation, where our team can guide you through some troubleshooting steps. This sounds like it could be a carrier issue, but I think that support can confirm that for you.

Happy Shipping!

HI! Did you get an answer? I'm having the same issue.

No, sorry.  I never contacted the support team as my buyer gave me an alternative address in TX.

#2 Below worked for me. Just keep trying the postal code in different formats.
When encountering "Missing or invalid ship to state/province code" errors in ShipStation while using UPS for shipments to Mexico, the problem usually lies in the way the state or province is entered. UPS requires specific two-digit codes for certain countries, and incorrectly formatted state codes can trigger the error.

Troubleshooting Steps:
  1. 1. Verify State/Province Code:
For Mexico, UPS requires the two-digit province code in the "State/Province" field in the Ship To address, not the full name of the province. You can find a list of valid two-digit codes for Mexican states online.

  2. 2. Empty Field (If Applicable):
In some cases, leaving the "State/Province" field completely empty may resolve the issue. Try reprocessing the order without a value in this field.
