we need the ability to attach order tags onto orders when they sync into shipstation. we use shopify and orders have order tags already but not sync over into shipstation. in speaking with one of the shipstation support agents that is not capable and you can only attach order tags and/or customer tags only within shipstation.
this poses a problem as it is not feasible with the amount of orders we get to manually attach order tags. we have automation rules established within shipstation to run based off of order tags but these automations will not run without manually attaching tags which again is problematic and very time intensive.
is anyone aware of the current api abilities of shipstation and whether or not there is field to write thru for order/customer tags.

Thank you for your post. We were able to locate a help center article that may assist you with this problem. We do have a way to enable the import of Shopify order tags into ShipStation. This does need to be mapped in the Shopify store settings in ShipStation; these tags will be mapped to import into one of the custom fields in ShipStation.We won’t automatically create tags, but what users can do is create a tag in ShipStation and then create an automation rule to look for the user's Shopify tag as the criteria in the custom field (#) and then set the action for the automation rule to apply the ShipStation tag.
