It would be great if you had an alert set up if a tracking number doesn't get scanned or progresses.

We have an issue with our warehouse where they will create a label and sometimes forget to ship the package, or if a package is lost and doesn't move for a while, we would be able to alert the recipient quicker.

I am in 100% agreement with you. Our local post office is terrible at updating tracking and it would be nice to be able to contact our customers before they contact us complaining.

yes a report or alert that would tell us which packages were not scanned by the carrier 24 hours after the label was created would be great.

I wanted to echo the suggestion about implementing an alert system for tracking numbers that don't get scanned or show progress after a certain period. This feature would be precious for businesses that maintain a smooth shipping process and keep their customers informed.

We’ve encountered similar challenges where labels are created, but packages aren’t shipped out. Whether it’s due to a warehouse oversight or a technical issue, delays can negatively impact customer satisfaction. An alert system would allow businesses to proactively identify and resolve these issues, reducing the risk of unhappy customers.

Additionally, there are several scenarios where this feature could be a game-changer:

  1. Lost Packages: If a package isn’t scanned after it leaves the warehouse, businesses could investigate much sooner, possibly recovering the package before it becomes a more significant issue.
  2. Shipping Delays: During peak seasons, delays at shipping hubs are common. Alerts could help businesses manage customer expectations by notifying them about potential disruptions.
  3. Preventing Fraud: In some cases, tracking numbers are generated for fraudulent purposes, and this feature could act as an early warning system.
  4. Improved Warehouse Operations: By identifying packages that aren’t moving, businesses can track operational bottlenecks or errors in their fulfillment process.

This alert system could allow customization for maximum effectiveness, such as setting a specific time threshold (e.g., 24 or 48 hours) before an alert is triggered. Integrating this with your notification system to inform the business and the recipient would enhance transparency and trust.

This functionality could significantly enhance ShipStation’s value as a shipping platform by improving accountability and reducing shipping-related headaches for businesses and their customers.

Thank you for considering this suggestion—I believe it would be an incredible addition to your robust platform!

Best regards,
Mark
