We need to be able to generate packing slips for orders through your API.

This is highly important. I don't even understand how you could have functionality of automating the labels without having the packing slips as well. Cool we can make the labels "faster", now I have to manually go into the UI and print the packing slips. May as well just setup the automation rules and use the UI. Seems pointless to me to automate the labels but then still have the UI needed anyway, much less for the $75/month you guys are asking for on this.

If shipstation connect exists, it should easily be able to tie into the shipstation api so that I can automatically create and print batches from the API and have it print to the settings that are already being held by the system to begin with.

@CaraAdmin Any update? Support staff stated this is not on the roadmap, and I am asking 6 months after your post stating it was on the roadmap.

This is clearly needed. What is the status update? There is already an account level setting for this. Why not just follow that by default?
