With the new version rollout a few weeks ago, the way shipping insurance is calculated by default is now messed up. When you select the insure package option, shipstation automatically grabs the total order price including tax and postage rather than the item value. This is a waste of your money because postage cost is already guaranteed by most carriers on a claim and I don't think tax is something most carrier allow for reimbursement - hence why the software used to automatically grab the subtotal (ie - items value) only. So remember to change the insurance value to reduce your insurance cost.
