Shipstation requires two factor authentication every day and sometimes multiple times per day. I would like the ability to opt out of 2fa.

I clicked reply to offer my support and was forced to login with 2fa. Just to access the forum. And I was already signed in to the app! Keep making noise about this, they have to address it eventually!

Happening to us as well. 90% of the time the code that is emailed to us either doesn't work, or the email comes in after it has already expired. Incredible frustrating and it's slowing down our processes immensely.

I don’t have 2fa set up, so ever 2 or 3 days I have to login via browser. Twice this morning alone. At times it remembers me and logs me back in, so I need to log out and back in just for get the app to work. It just changed a few weeks or months ago. I don’t have time to keep messing around with this.

With the app I don’t have 2fa, but I did need the email 2fa to login here to submit the above post..

I've reached my limit with this issue. Every single day, I’m logged out of the app and hit with Error 5000. The app then instructs me to use a web browser to log in—but that process takes multiple attempts, and even after I finally get back in, I’m kicked out again within the hour.
The mobile browser is practically unusable, and this has become a serious disruption to my workflow. I’ve contacted support multiple times and haven’t received any real help. Today, I was told there’s nothing that can be done—no follow-up, no escalation, just left hanging. Despite repeated requests, I haven’t been able to get a phone call either.
I rely on this platform to run my business, and I can’t afford to lose valuable time to a broken login process. If there’s no real solution, I’ll have no choice but to move to a different program—because this is no longer sustainable. I was really hoping coming here i would find that there was a way to disable this, clearly thats not the case. yet.

I thought I was going crazy... This is absolutely INSANE! I can only print labels from the Mobile App so it is a major issue for me. It tells me to log in, but I am already logged in on my laptop. I do it again, sometimes it works, most of the time it doesn't. I'm getting ready to change shipping companies if they can't fix this. PirateShip has the same prices, no reason to keep using this terrible software with no support.

Hello @DetFab!
Thank you for your post in the community! I understand how frustrating this experience could be, but I have some great news that may help. On May 1st, our Development Team released a new “Remember This Device” feature for MFA challenges during login to ShipStation!
Here are a few helpful things to keep in mind about how it works:
We hope this makes your login experience smoother in the future! We share all feedback and pain points with the development team. Let us know if you have any questions or need help getting started support@shipstation.com is always here to assist!

I hope something more permanent can be devised. Once every 30 days is still very frustrating.

Absolutely agreed. I've had a lot of problems with Shipstation lately (not connecting to Shipstation Connect, refusing to print when I have more than enough funds in my balance, etc), but this mobile app problem is what's becoming the final straw for me. I'm going to have to switch to another service. Did you switch to anywhere else and/or do you have suggestions for an alternative?

Hello @mimiceramics!
Thank you for contacting the community about your current experience with the 2FA process.
Our development team recommends using a standalone authenticator app, which tends to offer a more reliable and consistent experience. If you're an iOS user, it's worth noting that Apple has recently added support for authentication codes directly within the Passwords app, making the process even more seamless.
For those managing shared accounts, 1Password is also a great option—it's been effective for securely sharing and handling authentication codes across teams. Here's one of the apps our developers specifically suggested!
We truly appreciate your feedback—thanks for helping us improve!
