Regarding this Request #9040128
In the last 2 weeks, I have received over 1800 Adjustments from USPS called "Incorrect packaging used", over 4430.81 USD in extra charges
This request i am asking why 2 shipments the same product, Same dimensions, same weight, and one is being charged with additional charges (incorrect packaging used) , And the other is being credited the same charge?
and nobody is able to provide a clear answer, i always receive an generic answer to dispute the charges with USPS, they are not able to support since the account belong to shipstation.
I am disputing all these extra charges and requesting a refund for over 3000 USD in extra charges.
i noticed a lack of knowledge and support from the Shipstation team.

Hello @Diego5!
Thank you for your post in the Community! I see that you’ve already been working with our Support Team, and I checked in with them to gather a bit more information that may help clarify things. I can see how this could be frustrating.
When it comes to USPS adjustments, it’s essential to know that USPS handles all adjustment disputes directly, unlike UPS by ShipStation, where adjustments flow through us; USPS reviews and processes their own disputes.
If you believe an adjustment was misapplied, you’ll want to file a dispute with USPS using their claims portal here:
When submitting your dispute, USPS recommends including the following details:
Tracking number
Charge amount
Dispute information, including the adjustment reason and package dimensions
Proof against the adjustment, such as photos, invoices, or any documentation that demonstrates the correct weight, size, or service used
This information helps USPS validate the claim and determine whether the adjustment should be reversed.
ShipStation applies an Adjustment Processing Fee (APF) when a carrier—such as USPS—identifies a discrepancy after a label is created (for example, mismatched weight or dimensions.
These discrepancies result in additional administrative and processing costs for us. The APF helps offset those costs, allowing us to continue offering competitive rates and reliable service.
We appreciate you bringing this to the community. This allows learning from others' experiences.
Happy Shipping and Holiday!
