Because this original request I made for this was closed when an unrelated feature was introduced, I'm creating a new one.
I would very much like to be able to have the automation in ShipStation be able to print. This would allow me to have it automatically print all new orders that have downloaded, so that warehouse personnel know an order has come in when the printer starts spitting out packing slips. This is something we're used to having in a different product we switched from to ShipStation and it's the main thing we miss. With printing being done through ShipStation Connect now, this should be entirely possible too.
The other thing that would have be added is another feature that ShipStation really does need anyway: an indication of some kind that an order has already been printed. This would allow automation to "print all unprinted orders" as well as greatly reduce the possibility of orders being double-packed when more than 1 person is working shipping. We've had this happen multiple times simply because there's no good way to tell when an order has already been printed right now.
Thank you!!

Please enable a feature that you can choose what printer will print labels. To be more specific: we want to print International Priority and express with the regular printer and the rest of the labels in the 4x6 printer.

Different users that are in different offices/warehouse with different printers (thermal or laser) and print different size labels (4x6 and 8.5x11) should have the ability to have their own label/printer settings saved to their account instead of the need to switch setting every time globally.

I would like to make a suggestion that ShipStation work really hard to make a 4 x 6.25 option, and/or the 4 x 8 option available. UPS is a very large carrier for you not to support it's label sizes that work with the Zebra 450 printer. For those of us who use UPS, we get our shipping labels free of charge, so purchasing the 4 x 6 labels is not a viable option. It seems only logical that you would work to accomodate UPS customers, a huge market. PLEASE CONSIDER THIS! Right now I have to manually pull out the label a fraction of an inch every time two labels have been printed or the remaining labels print off the edge. It's really a pain. Thanks for listening!

With USMCA replacing NAFTA, I would love to be able to print a certificate of origin while printing shipping labels. We do a lot of business with Canada and this would help us save our customers money and thus do more business.

Usually, you can purchase thermal labels with a doc tab addition on top of the typical 4x6" label. Well, on other programs like ShipRush, we should be able to print item names/packing slip information on the doc tab. This is really really useful!

I found the print drop down options did not do what I expected. The option for labels prints both the label and packing slips. The packing slip option just prints packing slips. What do you think about it being:
--Labels (just labels)
--Packing Slips (just slips)
--Both (both)

Greetings Ship Station Tech Team,
My name is Jeffrey Roberts and I am a developer for VMR Products, http://www.v2cigs.com
We are currently building out a new site using Magento, and we are going to be using Ship Station as our shipping solution. We have one hang up though. We currently ship over a thousand orders everyday, and sometimes as high as 4 thousand or more orders on sale days. Approximately 1% of our orders have a total line item count greater than 20, and our highest line item count to date is 93. Ideally, we would like to print the shipping label and the packing slip on a half label half detachable slip medium, however, this does not work for our 1% of orders containing line items greater than 10. To switch up our fulfillment process for 1% of our orders will be a logistics nightmare.
The solution I see that will solve this challenge is to add a checkbox to your packing slip design view that if checked, will allow two or more pages to be printed. As of now, the system only allows for a single page to be printed. By adding the ability to print 2 or more pages will prevent a shipping horror story from occurring.
This solution is vital to our fulfillment process.
Thank you!
Jeffrey

We need an end of day report for UPS that is scannable. Having only the electronic transmission is keeping the customer from tracking packages as the distribution center doesn't always get the scans when the packages go through the site. Plus the electronic transmission doesn't capture when the packages leave our dock.

Much easier to read if you make the 4x6 packing slip in a landscape format, You can increase the font size and still keep everything in-line.

I'm fairly new to ShipStation, but it seems one of the obvious enhancements would be to allow customization of the packing slips without needing HTML skills...essentially, exactly the same interface available to edit the email templates.

Just as the title suggests, it would be great to be able to have the pick list get the products location based on the location in inventory, not by the warehouse location field. That field has to be manually updated. A products inventory location is constantly changing, or same products in split locations, manually updating that field just to generate a pick list is very cumbersome.
It would also be great if it gets the location that has the least amount of inventory first.

We do drop shipping for many customers and need to make the package look like it is shipping from our customer to their customer (even though we are shipping it). While shipping, we should be able to select "Other" from the warehouse field and manually type in a temporary "From address"

Currently, packing slips are a global setting applied to all stores. If you have multiple stores where some packing slips are 4 X 6 and some packing slips are 8 X 11, you need to change the account settings every time you print. Would be way more convenient to be able to assign the size of the packing slips by store so you don't have to constantly change the account setting.

Currently, Shipstation does not offer a UPS End of Day scan sheet. Shipstation management seems to think (from their documentation) that an EOD (End of Day) scan is not needed for UPS, since Shipstation is sending the data anyway to UPS every day. This purpose of the EOD for UPS has nothing to do with pushing data to UPS. Proof for this if obvious, because UPS has their own free shipping software called World Ship. World Ship automatically pushes all shipment data to UPS when each shipment is created while developers of World Ship still understand the need to create an EOD each day for the driver to scan anyway. The reason that UPS themselves create a scannable pickup sheet for the end of day in their own software is so that there is "proof" that the packages have been picked up and in their possession. This is important for a few reasons: 1. It documents that the package was picked up giving the recipient comfort that their package is in transit. 2. It gives proof that a package was picked up in case it is lost or stolen in transit. Then the shipper can then prove that the fault lies in UPS's hands causing them to be responsible to pay a claim. 3. The scannable EOD page allows the UPS pickup driver to scan just 1 barcode instead of 50 or a100 separate cartons causing a waste of time to the driver. The lack of this EOD scan sheet causes to the shipper not to know whether the driver scanned every package while not having the time or the stamina to stand on top of the driver themselves to watch him scan every package. Nobody can run a business like this. Shipstation tells you that if you "really" want the driver to sign a manifest which is REQUIRED by any insurance claim, then you can go through the trouble to print out a list of your shipments and ask the driver to sign it. This is tedious and the drivers will not usually want to do this - it is not UPS's way of doing business and without an EOD sheet, they are not required to do so. It is a no brainer for Shipstation to make a scannable EOD to have it printed and scanned daily just like Shipstation makes one for USPS EOD. We have experienced our 3rd claim today in a year where a package was not scanned and now missing in transit. The unscanned packages then become vulnerable for theft with no accountability. There will be no recourse that we can take on this missing package today specifically because there was no EOD sheet that could have been scanned. Shipstation: PLEASE LISTEN TO YOUR CUSTOMERS, HAVE COMMON SENSE and DO SOMETHING TO KEEP YOUR CUSTOMERS SAFE. Businesses need to sign for things that they take in their possession as proof that they picked it up. It needs to be made easy. Make a scannable UPS EOD sheet to protect us from these issues.

We have barcodes assigned to our items that do come into shipstation with out integration. But they aren't being utilized in shipstation. It would be great to have the ability to print those barcode UPC/GTIN's onto picking sheets, packing slips.
It would be even more beneficial to be able to set orders to print barcodes to a thermal printer so we can put it on packages. This goes hand in hand with Amazon's barcode needs for Fullfillment, internal manufacturing.
As an example, we're a on demand product producer. We make the product the day after it's ordered. So being able to print the barcode stickers for all the items in a shipment at the same time as the label is printed, helps us organize and fulfill faster. I would imagine a printing option to go like, First package prints label and then barcodes. Then next package and barcodes, etc:
Label_1 + UPC_1A +UPC_1B + UPC_1C
Label_2 + UPC_2A,
Label_3 + UPC_3A + UPC_3B

I was hoping you can add the ability to make switching between custom 4x6 and 8x11 packing slips easier. Our store is mainly a daily deals type store but we also have thousands of different products so half of our sales are people ordering one quantity of one product and the other half of our orders is just like any other. It is important that we switch between the 4x6 printer and the 8x11 printer in order to make our daily workflow go smoothly.
We currently print the daily deals type orders on the 4x6 and regular orders on 8x11 but when you switch between the two, the packing slips get switched back to the default packing slips and I either have to go back to the selling channels view and reapply the correct invoice or do an "apply bulk action". I wish there was an easier way to switch between the two packing slips, for example just being able to set a custom packing slip as a "default."
We also sell through multiples channels like ebay and amazon and some channels require custom packing slips to have their logos on it and we have automation rules set up to automatically change packing slips to a certain type but since it switches back to default every time I change it, the automation rule pretty much disappears and can cause a potential problem.

Need a way to automatically print the commercial invoices (customs forms) when an international label is printed. This only currently affects UPS and FedEx since USPS is consolidated into the shipping label itself. However, having to leave the shipping area to go to shipped items and find the order then click the paper icon... employees sometimes forget this step which then creates an exercise in time management and phone calls to UPS/FedEx to fax the documents.
If we could have a setting on the labels like we do with "print label with packing slip" but print labels with customs forms" and be able to choose the 8.5x11 printer it would be perfect.
